FACTS What does DHI Mortgage do with your personal information?
Why? Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.
What? The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us. This information can include your:

  • Payment History and Account Balances
  • Credit History and Employment Information
 
How? All financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday business. In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers’ personal information; the reasons DHI Mortgage chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing.

Please note:
If you are a new customer, unless you affirmatively consent to allow us to share your information earlier pursuant to law, we can begin sharing your information 30 days from the date we sent this notice to you in the mail or provided it to you in person, or 30 days from the date you acknowledge receipt electronically. When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.
However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.

What we do
How does DHI Mortgage protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does DHI Mortgage collect my personal information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you
  • provide employment information or provide account information
  • provide your mortgage information or give us your wage statements
  • give us your income information
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.
Why can't I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
  • sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. See below for more information on your rights under state laws.
What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else? Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.
 
 
Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. 
  • Our affiliates include D.R. Horton Insurance Agency, Inc. and title companies doing business as DHI Title, which are financial institutions, and nonfinancial companies such as D.R. Horton, Inc.  
Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
  • DHI Mortgage does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.
 
Joint marketing A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
  • DHI Mortgage does not jointly market.
 
 
Other Important Information
This U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice has been posted, and the ability to make privacy choices online has been made available, for the convenience of those doing business with DHI Mortgage. DHI Mortgage will continue to provide a copy of its current U.S. Consumer Privacy Notice electronically, if you have agreed to do business electronically, or by mail or in person in accordance with the requirements of Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Pub. L. No. 106-102, 113 Stat. 1338, 1436-45 (1999). If you are a new customer, unless you affirmatively consent to allow us to share your information earlier pursuant to law, we will not begin sharing your information, except as permitted by law, with others until 30 days from the date we sent this notice to you by mail or provide it to you in person, or 30 days from the date that you acknowledge receipt electronically, even though we have posted it online for your convenience. And, if you are a California resident, unless you affirmatively consent to allow us to share your information earlier pursuant to California law, we will not begin sharing your information with others, except as permitted by California law, until 45 days from the date we send our California Consumer Privacy Notice to you by mail or provide it to you in person or 45 days from the date that you acknowledge receipt electronically, even though we have posted our California Consumer Privacy Notice on line for your convenience. And, if you have made your privacy choices known to us online, by mail, by phone or in person, we will only use and share your information in accordance with those choices. If you make your privacy choices known to us online through our website at www.dhimortgage.com, by clicking “Your Privacy Rights,” and going to “Your Privacy Choices,” it will be unnecessary for you to contact us by mail, by phone or in person to maintain the same privacy choices. If you wish to change your privacy choices after opting out, a form is also provided that you may print out and mail in. For this form, please go to “Your Privacy Rights” at www.dhimortgage.com and click “Your Privacy Choices.”
 
California Residents.  We will not share personal information we collect about you with nonaffiliated third parties unless permitted by California law. We do not share personal information we collect about you with nonaffiliated third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We may, however, in accordance with California law, share such personal information with nonaffiliated third parties, in certain circumstances, including, but not limited to, when you direct us to share such information, to process or administer transactions that you have requested, to market our products and services to you, to comply with the law or to complete a real estate appraisal in connection with a transaction you have requested. We will not share personal information we have collected about you with our affiliates for their marketing purposes if you have opted out from such sharing. And, we will further limit sharing of personal information collected about you with our affiliates to the extent required by California law and in accordance with your privacy choices. Vermont Residents.  We will not disclose information about your creditworthiness to our affiliates and will not disclose your personal information, financial information, credit report or health information to nonaffiliated third parties to market to you, other than as permitted by Vermont law, unless you authorize us to make those disclosures. We may, however, for example, in accordance with Vermont law, share personal information that we collect about you with nonaffiliated third parties in order to service or process a financial product or service that you request; to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud; to comply with federal, state or local laws, rules and other applicable requirements or in accordance with your requests and with your consent. We may share information about our experiences or transactions with you with our affiliates without your consent.
